This policy explains what information vegaandlyra.com (“the site”, “we”) collects and how it is used. The site is a small, character-first fiction project.
Who we are and how to contact us
The site is run by the Vega & Lyra project. Questions or requests about privacy: hello@vegaandlyra.com. This is our only contact channel.
What we collect
- Emails you send us. If you write to hello@vegaandlyra.com we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply, and we delete correspondence we no longer need.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider (DreamHost) automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
- No accounts, comments, newsletters or sign-ups. The site has none of these at present. If we add a sign-up form, it will include a clear consent line and this policy will be updated first.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. We do not use analytics, ad networks or tracking pixels. Fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading the site does not contact a font provider.
Cookies and local storage
The site itself sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. If you choose to load our TikTok profile on the Shorts page, TikTok may set its own cookies (see “Links and embedded content”). The Vega mode (day) / Lyra mode (night) switch remembers your choice in your browser’s localStorage under the key vl-mode. It holds only the word “vega” or “lyra”, stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings. If you never press the switch, nothing is stored and the site simply follows your device’s light or dark setting.
WordPress may set strictly necessary cookies only for site administrators who log in.
Links and embedded content
We link to our Instagram and TikTok profiles. Those services have their own privacy policies, which we don’t control. Our Shorts page can show our TikTok profile, but nothing loads from TikTok until you press “Show TikTok profile here”. When you press it, your browser connects to TikTok’s servers: TikTok receives your IP address and browser and device information and may set cookies or similar technologies, under TikTok’s own privacy policy (https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy). We don’t remember that choice, so on a later visit nothing loads until you press the button again. Instagram is linked, not embedded.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has emailed us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete any email correspondence we hold about you by writing to hello@vegaandlyra.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or certain US states), you may have additional rights under local law, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We do not sell or share personal information.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
